Savory Sundays: an easy eat.

Tonight I made a very simple, delicious meal. I love my pastas and went for the quick Spaghetti tonight. I think I only spent a total of 30 minutes cooking tonight. Also, I cheated. Yes, I admit it! I didn’t make homemade tonight. I bought a pound of lean hamburger, a pound of spaghetti, and Ragu traditional sauce. So what if I cheated! It was good. And no complaints. Everyone enjoyed it. Oh, here’s a tip! If you have a problem getting your little ones to eat spaghetti sauce because the little ‘green’ things, onion pieces, or tomatoes… try Ragu traditional spaghetti sauce. It has all the good spices and veggies in it, but the little ones can’t see them. It’s always a hit at my house! I paired my sketti with a fresh, hand tossed salad and bread. Yummy.

30 Day Memoirs: The Tale of a Picture #7

Here is the first coat of paint in my bathroom. It still needs lots of love. But at least the paint looks mucho better! Next I need to find a wall border and decor that I like. A new toilet, vanity, mirror, lighting, and tile floors. The long road is paved with good intentions.

Primped and Primed

I did get some primer on my bathroom walls and it is already a big improvement compared to the before picture. Goodbye ugly yellow and teal!

Teal and Yellow Do not Match!

Okay so I really love my house. Really. It’s just it does need some love. I don’t know who lived here before, but they might possibly be color blind. The colors on the walls of my house are horrible! Okay this is my bathroom…. um… yellow and teal? Yeah, I don’t think those colors even come close to matching on a pallet. So I have been spending a week painting. This is the before picture of my bathroom. Ugh. Gross.

Spa Treatments #1

I stumbled upon an article in Woman’s World magazine that I love and wanted to share it with you. It has a lot of tips for at home Spa Treatments you can give yourself to beat stress, not to mention make you feel pampered too. The first secret: Get a youthful glow!

Did you know that Pumpkin and Pineapple could do that? Neither did I until I read this article and starting giving myself spa treatments at home. Most of them take less than 20 minutes and always make me feel super refreshed afterward.

Want to get a youthful glow?

Why you will love it: The warmth from the dishcloth relaxes all the muscles in your face. “The pumpkin and pineapple enzymes improve the clarity and texture of your skin,” says Krasofski. “After you splash off the mask, your skin will look smoother and feel softer!”

Here’s how to do it:

1. Blend 2 Tbs. canned pumpkin puree and 1 Tbs. crushed pineapple, then place in a small bowl.

2. Place a warm washcloth over a clean face, then relax for 5-10 minutes.

3. Remove the washcloth and gently massage the treatment onto your neck and face. Relax for 10 minutes.

4. Remove the mask with a cool water splash.

Yields: 1 Application

My variations: The only thing I do different, I mix up about 3-5 applications and store it in the fridge. That way it is ready to go each day when I am ready to use it. I love doing this small treatment to my face. It makes my skin feel great and I love the me time.
